Consumer protection law

refers to a set of legal regulations designed to ensure the rights of consumers are upheld and protected. It focuses on safeguarding consumers from unfair practices, fraud, and exploitation by businesses, ensuring they receive safe products, fair services, and accurate information. The law covers various aspects, including product liability, deceptive advertising, warranties, and rights to compensation. By enforcing these protections, consumer protection law helps maintain a balanced and fair marketplace, promoting transparency, accountability, and consumer confidence.

  • Sale of Goods Act, 1930: The Act deals with the sale of goods, with the consumer having the right to receive goods which are of sound quality and corresponding to the agreed terms
